Well Elena and I are all ready Christmas, however rather than have it on the 25th December or 7th January due to our work commitments we will be having our own Christmas on the 29th December prior to me spending time over new year with her family.

What I have noticed is that Elena is a lot more excited for Christmas than most of the western girls I know. It must be a Russian and Ukrainian girl thing? Or maybe they just appreciate being able to spend the time together more, and take less for granted in their life? All I know is that we are both very excited for our first Christmas together.

I will keep you all updated with how things go in Ukraine and meeting Elena’s parents- along with how well my Russian holds up- ha ha it is very basic!
